Join Amy for her Private or Group Reformer Pilates classes. The reformer will give you a different and unique experience from the Mat. You will gain more flexibility, balance, and coordination. Private sessions are offered at Amy’s home in Lakewood and to those who prefer more individualized attention and possibly working on particular injuries/chronic pain. Group classes are open to everyone and are offered in 3 options on Thursday evenings at Wheat Ridge Recreation Center. 4;20pm: Restorative; 5:25: Advanced; 6:30: Beginner/Intermediate.

Perfect for those who want to party, but put extra emphasis on toning and sculpting! How It Works: The challenge of adding resistance by using Zumba® Toning Sticks (or light weights), helps you focus on specific muscle groups, so you (and your muscles) stay engaged! Using the Lightweight maraca-like Toning Sticks enhances sense of rhythm and coordination, while toning target zones, including arms, core and lower body. Amy is one of very few instructors in the Denver metro teaching this class format, because she loves seeing the results with herself and her participants!
Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out. This class is taught by Amber Schmidt, who sets the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up, and rockin’ out!
Denver West Burbs was founded in 2010 with community in mind. Amy Tunnell began teaching Zumba in 2007 and decided to start classes independent of a fitness center in 2010. She suddenly had a group of dedicated students who followed her from one location to the next, until finally she found a stable location at the Highlands Masonic Event Center in 2012. This is an amazing space with 60 x 80 hardwood flooring and a stage, so Amy quickly started organizing large Zumba Fitness parties, that she called “Denver West Burbs Zumba Party”. She gathered instructors from all over town to teach and their students followed them.
Over the years this small community based company has grown to add Pound Fitness, Mat Pilates, Reformer based Pilates, Zumba, and Zumba Toning. We hold 5 group fitness classes per week, at two locations. We also occasionally host larger fitness events.
Amy is also available for private Reformer based Pilates sessions, corporate wellness events, private parties and as a host to large fitness events. Call her for more information or to book!
